My primary work is focused on my PhD in Computational Neuroscience working towards my thesis on:
The role of development and the natural environment on neural circuit function in primary visual cortex.
As part of this project I have been working with developmental models of the primary visual cortex (V1). With our growing knowledge of V1 anatomy, connectivity and function, my modeling work has been working towards unifying our understanding of the development, circuits and computations performed by the cortex. These models therefore explore how a functional circuit between different classes of excitatory and inhibitory neurons in the cortex can self-organize and explain a wide-range of physiological, psychophysical, and behavioral results.
Through my PhD I have also extensively contributed and developed a number of open-source Python libraries.
